Ghana confirmed another death case from the Coronavirus on the 23rd of March 2020.The number of cases have risen to 52 after twenty-five (25) persons out of 185 tested positive with 601 yet to be tested out of the over 1000 in mandatory quarantine.
Intense pressure has been placed on the government, not only to close the country’s borders, but also introduce a lockdown. Already President Akufo-Addo has directed both public and private schools from tertiary to basic level, to close down until further notice. There is also a ban on social gatherings of more than 25 people.
20 of the confirmed cases are of Ghanaian nationality, majority of them returned from affected countries.
