Saturday, March 23rd, marks the first ever event hosted by Boiler Room in Ghana. Located in Accra, the event will be cosponsored by Ballantine’s whiskey as a part of BRxBallantine’s True Music Series. The series has been described by Ballantine’s as a way to “showcase & celebrate the most credible music scenes & stories from around the world.” The event will feature some of Ghana’s top artists, including Kwesi Arthur, La Meme Gang, and Amaarae.
While it will be their first time in Ghana, Boiler Room is no stranger to the African Continent, hosting five shows in various other countries as a part of the series in 2017 and 2018. Boiler Room originally started as a series of livestreamed DJ sessions in an actual boiler room based out of London, but quickly expanded after gaining a large following that admired their signature style: a DJ facing the camera with a crowd behind them. Today, they regularly host events in major cities ranging from Tokyo to Los Angeles.
Tickets are exclusively available after submitting an application, but in typical Boiler Room fashion, the event will be live streamed on their platform throughout the night. Meaning even if you can’t be there, you can still attend.
